We are still here…Beyond July 11, let’s relaunch the struggles!
The accumulation of energies and political work started up in order to organize the protest days, – starting from the widely attended national assembly of May 31 – represents for all of us a precious legacy, not to be wasted.
With this frame of mind, last Sunday, on June 22, about a hundred of comrades, hailing from different political, social, grassroots unions’ and student backgrounds, gathered for an assembly of collective debate to relaunch a process of common struggle, in order to allow us to be prepared for the coming autumn.
The Italian political scenario is marked today by an alignment of all the parties of the institutional league to the needs of the Renzi government to break the stiffnesses, the resistances, the rights and the remaining guarantees, still incompatible with the project of ultra-neoliberal reshaping of the country, in order to make it acceptable to the Trojka’s accounting. The frenzy of the Housing Plan against housing occupations and the project of flexibilization/precarization contained in the labour bill* project (Jobs Act) are two sides of the same coin. They embody an idea of society and development that is an enemy of ours, and that wants us to be increasingly precarious, subject to blackmail and domesticated.
Beyond Italy there is Europe, but the idea of Europe we have is totally incompatible with the judicial-economical-political monster institutionalized in the European Union and in the Central Bank and rather invokes the idea of an Europe of coming struggles. Starting from these common reflections, the assembly took the following decisions:
– The upkeep of the week of local initiatives of struggle on the territories from June 23 till June 28
– A 3-day meeting of discussion, exchange of views and initiative in Venaus (Susa Valley) next July 11, 12 and 13 during which talk about the restart of a season of antagonism next autumn.
By appraising the territorial processes, we commit ourselves to activate an expansive social process towards the days of mobilization scheduled for the next second half of October, in the forms of a metropolitan social strike against crisis, austerity measures, debt and precarity blackmail.

*In Italy it comes as a “legge-delega” – that is, a law voted by the parliament that enables the government to directly make laws about a given topic
