15M: building the trans-national social strike
As a recompositive potentiality – driven by struggles for income and fulfillment of partisan needs – emerged in Italy on #19A, between Ljubljana and Maribor the contributions of the delegations of the movements against austerity and crisis – gathered at the 2013 Hub Meeting – followed each other. In Italy the issue of income was being reclaimed from rethorics, propaganda and loose and interested promises by the political class; whereas, in the reflection of the movements’ constituent process, the different practices of re-appropriation of income and building of counter-institutionality regained centrality in the Hub Meeting – projecting themselves towards the social strike.
By keeping at bay any symbolic shortcuts and political ploys devoid of inquiry, we want to reclaim and enhance the potentiality of the #19A, which is local and trans-national at the same time, by welcoming the call of the Ljubljana-Maribor meeting: to affect the trans-national space, to be intended as an evolving constituent process, through the leaning and the imagination of a future social strike. An open and continuously changing space, in which the borders are set between the edges of the struggles and the Euro-Mediterranean neoliberal governance; and whose cartography draws the movement of partisan needs and desires, against the armed lines of the national or supranational governments’ capturing apparata.
The next #15M, boosted by the Ljubljana Common Statement, can be a new “hub” of struggle and social conflict that points to this direction. By building the future social and trans-national strike through radical appropriation of income from the counterpart; by affecting the spontaneous claims of refusal of the political class; and by working for a recomposition of living labour, both cognitive and blue-collar, as an early prospect of struggle, we want to make yet another step forward together, testing a borderless synchronicity of initiative. Not an event day of struggle, more useful for photographers than for social conflicts, but rather an open space for the movements’ constituent process – that on #15M wants to keep going forward by constructing the future social trans-national strike.
